Alternative Energies

"The climate change crisis is a global problem
with local solution"

Lucas Monsalve

Why implement renewable energy as a policy for good governance?

  • Energy is one of the major concerns of contemporary societies.

  • Traditional fuels such as coal, oil and gas are by far the biggest contributors to global climate change.

  • Renewable energy is key to a safer, cleaner and more sustainable world. To avoid the worst impacts of climate change, emissions need to be cut by almost half by 2030 and net zero by 2050.

  • We need to stop relying on fossil fuels and invest in alternative energy sources that are clean, accessible, affordable, sustainable and reliable.

  • Renewable energy generating plants installed in the territories are reversible, climate change is not.

What do we offer in terms of alternative energies?

  • Provide candidates and regional or national electoral programmes with successful and adaptable ideas and projects for the development of renewable energy in their territories.

  • Mediate between companies and regional governments for the development of alternative energy generation projects in Latin America.

  • Provide training and information to citizens on alternative energies in those communities where implementation is sought.

  • Work on local programs of social acceptance and dialogue on climate change and energy transition.

  • Replicate successful alternative energy models in Spain and other regions of Europe, transferring them to the Latin American reality.

What strategic actions can we work on?

  • Using animal excrement to generate electricity.

  • Green Hydrogen Generation for captive mobility parks (mobility fleets of public and private organizations in delimited areas.)

  • Energy community projects.

  • Agrovoltaics, combined use of land for agriculture and photovoltaic generation.

  • Small and medium-capacity photovoltaic and wind farms, whether or not connected to the grid.

  • Information and training sessions in communities on specific renewable energy generation projects.

  • Green Dialogue Roundtables in municipalities and town councils, with the aim of choosing a renewable energy development model adapted to the needs of their citizens.

  • Digital tools for the deployment of renewables in the territories.
